The group behind the Medusa ransomware has claimed nearly 400 victims since its emergence in January 2023. The financially motivated attacks have increased by 42% between 2023 and 2024. In 2025, the group has already claimed more than 40 attacks in just two months, according to a report by the Symantec Threat Hunter Team shared with The Hacker News. The ransoms demanded range from $100,000 to $15 million.
