The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has introduced Rayhunter, a free open-source tool designed to detect base station emulators, also known as IMSI-catchers or Stingrays. These devices are used to intercept mobile communications by masquerading as legitimate cell towers. Rayhunter enables the detection of these devices, providing protection against unauthorized surveillance attacks.
