Since September 2024, a new cyberattack campaign has been targeting the Middle East and North Africa using a modified version of the AsyncRAT malware. This campaign, which exploits social networks to distribute the malware, is linked to the current geopolitical climate of the region, according to researchers Klimentiy Galkin and Stanislav Pyzhov from Positive Technologies. The campaign utilizes Facebook advertisements and malicious links on Telegram to reach its targets.
