FTC to Distribute $25.5 Million in Refunds to Victims of Tech Support Scams
Security
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will begin distributing more than $25.5 million in refunds to victims of fear tactics used by tech support companies Restoro and Reimage. This initiative comes after these companies deceived their customers by making them believe their computers were infected with malware, prompting them to purchase unnecessary repair services. The refunds will be sent to victims identified by the FTC.
