Cisco Fixes DoS Vulnerability in IOS XR Routers
Security
Cisco has fixed a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability that allows attackers to crash the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) process on IOS XR routers with a single BGP update message. This flaw enables a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a specially crafted BGP message, leading to the restart of the BGP process. The vulnerability affects versions prior to 7.1.3 and 7.2.1 of Cisco IOS XR. Users are encouraged to update their systems to avoid this threat.
