The company pcTattletale, which marketed itself as a legitimate surveillance tool for employers and parents, was hacked through a basic security flaw. Over 100,000 customers had their data exposed. Its founder, Bryan Fleming, pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy and unauthorized access to computers. Prosecutors claim he knowingly facilitated illegal spying and promoted the software for monitoring unfaithful partners.
