
Russian Hacker Group Sandworm Linked to Largest Cyberattack on Polish Power Grid in Late 2025

The Russian hacker group Sandworm has been identified as responsible for what is described as the "largest cyberattack" targeting the Polish electrical system during the last week of December 2025. The attack failed, according to Polish Energy Minister Milosz Motyka. The Cyber Space Command diagnosed this attack as the strongest of the year against the country's energy infrastructure. The DynoWiper malware was used in this attempted attack.
