Shadowserver has identified nearly 800,000 IP addresses with exposed Telnet fingerprints vulnerable to attacks exploiting a critical authentication bypass flaw in the GNU InetUtils telnetd server. This vulnerability allows attackers to remotely compromise vulnerable Telnet servers. The internet security monitoring organization continues to track these exposed servers as active attacks targeting this vulnerability are underway.
