Hacking a Cheap Wi-Fi Toy Drone

The author disassembled a cheap Chinese toy drone (model A17) and reverse-engineered its operation. The drone exposes a Wi-Fi access point and the application sends raw UDP packets without encryption. The author decoded the control protocol and succeeded in piloting the drone using Python.
