Microsoft Reveals Multi-Stage Intrusion Exploiting SolarWinds Web Help Desk

Microsoft has revealed a multi-stage intrusion involving threat actors exploiting instances of SolarWinds Web Help Desk (WHD) exposed on the Internet to gain initial access and move laterally through the organization's network to other high-value assets. The Microsoft Defender security research team indicated that it was not clear if the activity had exploited a recently discovered vulnerability.
