Researchers have discovered a new ransomware called Reynolds that uses the BYOVD (Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver) technique to disable security tools and evade detection before proceeding with system encryption. Cybersecurity researchers from Broadcom initially attributed the attack to the Black Basta group. The ransomware exploits a vulnerable driver to bypass security protections on targeted systems.
