Bitdefender Uncovers Massive Ad Fraud Campaign Involving Hundreds of Apps

Bitdefender experts have uncovered a vast ad fraud campaign involving hundreds of applications downloaded more than 60 million times from the Google Play Store. These applications displayed full-screen ads and were used for phishing attacks. The campaign, identified under the name Vapor, was detected by security researchers who highlighted the scale of the operation and its impacts on users. The malicious applications have been removed from the store, but the damage caused remains significant.
