PayPal Data Breach Exposed Social Security Numbers for Six Months

A PayPal code change led to a data exposure that went undetected for nearly six months. Approximately 100 customers were affected, with compromised data including Social Security numbers and dates of birth. PayPal stated its systems were not directly breached but reset passwords and offered two years of credit monitoring to impacted users.
