The user encountered a connectivity problem in the Lateral Movement room of TryHackMe’s Offensive Pentesting pathway, where the Attack Box failed to connect to the target network. The issue was caused by an empty (0 KB) OpenVPN configuration file for the lateral movement network. The solution involved selecting latmove_ad_v2 from the OpenVPN network dropdown in the HTB (Hack The Box) web UI under Manage Account > VM and VPN Settings > Access via OpenVPN > Networks. After applying this change, the Attack Box successfully connected to the network.
