The author asks if anyone has heard of a company that successfully recovered its data after paying a ransom following a ransomware attack. During their 8 years at a managed services provider (MSP), the author handled several dozen ransomware cases, but none were able to recover all their data after paying the ransom. Most companies had backups, but some did not.
