Attack Surface Analysis of 5,121 MCP Servers Reveals Toxic Data Flows
CybersecurityVulnerabilitiesData FlowsServer Security
A study examined 5,121 MCP (Multi-Component Processing) servers and identified 555 instances where seemingly safe tools or components created hazardous data flows when combined. These "toxic data flows" could potentially enable unintended or malicious behavior. The analysis focused on how individual secure components may interact in ways that introduce security risks.
