Utimaco Survey Reveals Legacy Data Breaches as Top Generative AI Risk for US Companies

A survey conducted by Utimaco found that 78% of US companies identify legacy data breaches as the top risk associated with generative AI. Additionally, 57% of respondents have not yet implemented a solution to address these concerns. Regarding post-quantum cryptography (PQC) readiness, 72% of companies view legacy data attacks as the greatest quantum-related threat, yet 75% remain unprepared. Data sovereignty is also a priority, with 80% of respondents ranking the protection of customer data as a critical concern. The survey highlights gaps in both generative AI risk mitigation and quantum-resistant security measures among US businesses.
