The attackers exploited Anodot, a third-party SaaS platform used for cloud cost monitoring, as the initial entry point, obtaining authentication tokens to access a connected Snowflake account without directly compromising Snowflake itself. ShinyHunters issued a "pay or leak" ultimatum following the breach.
