
Dutch Police Arrest Eight in Nationwide Operation Against Identity Fraud and Cybercrime

On April 7 and 8, 2026, Dutch police arrested eight men aged 20 to 34 in a nationwide operation targeting users of the VerifTools platform for identity fraud, forgery, and cybercrime-related offenses. During the raids, authorities seized smartphones, laptops, cash, cryptocurrency, and weapons or imitation firearms. The investigation uncovered 915,655 fake IDs linked to the seized VerifTools servers, which were taken down as part of the operation. The case originated from a collaborative effort by the Dutch National Police beginning on August 27, 2025. No additional technical details or CVE IDs were disclosed in the report.
