New Ransomware-as-a-Service Operation VanHelsing Claims Three Victims

A new ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) operation named VanHelsing has claimed three victims since its launch on March 7, 2025, demanding ransoms of up to $500,000. The RaaS model allows a wide range of participants, from experienced hackers to newcomers, to get involved for a deposit of $5,000. Affiliates retain 80% of the ransom payments, while the main operators earn 20%, according to Check Point.
