New Mirai Variant Nexcorium Targets DVR Systems for DDoS Attacks

Cybersecurity researchers at Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs identified Nexcorium, a new variant of the Mirai malware specifically targeting TBK digital video recorder (DVR) systems. The malware hijacks these IoT devices to assemble a botnet capable of launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
