Cybersecurity researchers at Forescout Research Vedere Labs identified 22 new vulnerabilities, collectively named BRIDGE:BREAK, in serial-to-IP converters from Lantronix and Silex. These flaws could allow attackers to hijack vulnerable devices and manipulate data transmitted through them. Nearly 20,000 exposed Serial-to-Ethernet converters were detected as potentially at risk. The vulnerabilities affect popular models of these devices, though no specific CVE IDs or affected firmware versions were disclosed. The impact includes unauthorized control and data tampering in industrial and operational technology environments.
