NHS Supplier Advanced Fined Over £3 Million for 2022 Ransomware Attack

The NHS supplier, Advanced, will have to pay a fine of more than 3 million pounds sterling (3.8 million dollars) for failing to implement basic security measures before suffering a ransomware attack in 2022, the British data protection regulator has confirmed. This fine represents half of what was initially demanded by the Information Commissioner's Office in August 2024.
