A new report titled "Understanding SaaS Security Risks" explains why traditional CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker) solutions fail to protect against risks associated with unauthorized SaaS, or "shadow SaaS," as well as data damage and other threats. Companies are heavily using SaaS applications such as CRM, project management tools, payment processors, and lead management tools. Although CASB solutions are commonly used to protect against malicious access and data exfiltration, they are not sufficient to counter the specific risks of shadow SaaS. The report highlights these shortcomings and proposes solutions to address them.
