Advanced Computer Software Group, a software supplier for the NHS in the UK, has been fined £3.07 million ($3.95 million) by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) following a ransomware attack. This fine amounts to nearly half of the initially proposed penalty by the ICO. The attack, which exploited security vulnerabilities at a subsidiary of Advanced Computer Software, impacted NHS care services. Connor Jones reports that this reduction in the fine is due to the company's good behavior.
