Disheartened After SOC Interview

The author of the post recently had an interview for a level 1 position in a Security Operations Center (SOC) and is uncertain about their performance. Although they were able to answer many questions and provide additional responses via email, they found some questions too complex for a level 1 position. They were advised to gain more experience in SIEM and EDR but are wondering how to obtain this experience without already being in a position. Currently, they work as a security engineer, a role that the company classified as infrastructure, although they believe it involves more than that.
