ANSSI Reports High Ransomware Impact on French SMEs and Mid-Sized Enterprises; Global Mobile Fraud and Data Breach Incidents Highlighted
The French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI) reported in its 2026 panorama that 48% of ransomware victims in France are SMEs, SMBs, and mid-sized enterprises (ETI), with 74% of these organizations remaining below the 'Essential' cybersecurity maturity level. The analysis highlights gaps in compliance with the NIS2 directive and outlines five immediate operational measures for improvement. Separately, Zimperium identified a global Android fraud campaign exploiting mobile operator billing systems to silently subscribe victims to premium services without consent. Additionally, a claimed leak of 340 million OnlyFans accounts was attributed to aggregated data from prior breaches rather than a direct platform compromise. A three-year-old Chromium vulnerability remains unpatched, allowing attackers to execute JavaScript code persistently in affected browsers.
