The billion-dollar cybersecurity grant program for states and local governments needs to be renewed but improved, according to witnesses testifying before the House of Representatives. This program, managed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), faces several challenges before its expiration, at a time when state and local governments are confronted with numerous cyber risks. Witnesses emphasized the need to enhance the program to better address current threats.
