1Password Introduces Privileged Access Management Feature to Enhance Security
1Password has launched 1Password Privileged Access, a new feature extending its Unified Access platform with privileged access management (PAM) capabilities. The solution enables just-in-time, least-privilege access to critical infrastructure and is part of broader updates, including a public preview of 1Password Credential Broker for GitHub Actions and enhanced Enterprise Password Manager features for developer and AI security. The announcement was made by David Faugno, CEO of 1Password, who highlighted that organizations often have excessive and unmonitored standing access in their environments. The release targets reducing unnecessary persistent privileges but does not specify a launch date beyond July 2026. No technical vulnerabilities, CVE IDs, or quantified impacts were disclosed in the announcement.
