The UK Royal Navy experienced a data leak involving drone-related documents after a contractor misconfigured an Amazon S3 bucket, exposing sensitive military information. A security researcher discovered the unsecured storage in mid-July 2026, containing schematics, flight logs, and operational details of autonomous systems. Separately, Belgium’s national eID system was found vulnerable to a remote code execution (RCE) flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-4512, allowing attackers to compromise authentication tokens. Apple patched a critical bug in its Private Cloud Compute (PCC) infrastructure, identified as CVE-2026-3890, which could have enabled unauthorized access to encrypted user data processed in cloud environments. The Belgian eID issue was disclosed on August 10, 2026, while Apple’s fix was released the same week.
