
Counterfeit Smartphones Preloaded with Triada Malware Infect Thousands

Counterfeit versions of popular smartphone models sold at reduced prices have been found preloaded with a modified version of an Android malware called Triada. More than 2,600 users in various countries have been infected by this new version of Triada, with the majority in Russia, according to a report by Kaspersky. The infections were recorded between March 13 and March 27, 2025.
