The researchers identified a scam page impersonating Avast that targeted users in Belgium, falsely claiming their Avast Premium Security subscription had renewed for €129.99 covering five devices with a renewal date in February. The page displayed professional-looking elements including a green checkmark and an Active status badge, suggesting AI assistance enabled scammers with limited web development skills to build more sophisticated fraudulent pages.
