2026 State of Agent Security Report Reveals Major Visibility Gap in AI Product Authentication

According to the 2026 State of Agent Security Report, approximately 1,280 third-party products now embed AI in studied environments. Of these products, about 282 are positioned behind single sign-on systems, while roughly 1,000 remain invisible to identity infrastructure by default. The visibility gap exists because identity stacks can only govern what authenticates through them, and most AI agents do not authenticate through these systems.
