Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed details about a security flaw that has been fixed in the Amazon EC2 Simple Systems Manager (SSM) agent. If successfully exploited, this vulnerability would allow an attacker to gain privilege escalation and execute code. The flaw would enable an attacker to create directories in unintended locations on the file system and run arbitrary scripts with root privileges.
