
DHS Quietly Dismantled a Critical Cybersecurity Council. Should We Be Concerned?

In March 2025, the DHS officially dissolved the CIPAC, a council that, for 19 years, helped the private sector and the government coordinate their efforts against cyber threats. The CIPAC operated under a FACA exemption and allowed for the legal and confidential sharing of intelligence. Without the CIPAC and no replacement in place, companies are now legally and strategically exposed, and critical infrastructures, ranging from energy to elections, are operating with fewer protections.
