China Implicitly Admits to Cyberattacks on US Infrastructure

In December, during a secret meeting, Chinese officials implicitly acknowledged being behind a series of cyberattacks on American infrastructure, including ports, water services, airports, and other targets. This acknowledgment was interpreted as a warning regarding US policy towards Taiwan. The intrusions were linked to increased US support for Taiwan. The remarks by Chinese officials were indirect and ambiguous, but the majority of the American delegation interpreted them as a tacit admission.
