Cybersecurity World On Edge As CVE Program Prepares To Go Dark

MITRE has confirmed that its contract with the DHS to manage the CVE and CWE programs will expire on April 16, 2025, and no renewal has been finalized to date. This contract, renewed annually, has funded essential work to keep the CVE program operational, including updates to the schema, coordination of assignments, and verification of vulnerabilities.
