Cybersecurity researchers have described a malware campaign targeting Docker environments using a previously undocumented technique to mine cryptocurrency. According to Darktrace and Cado Security, this activity represents a shift from other cryptojacking campaigns that directly deploy miners like XMRig to illegally exploit computing resources. This campaign involves deploying a strain of malware that exploits Teneo Web3 nodes by sending fake heartbeat signals to gain cryptocurrency.
