Since June 2024, a new advanced persistent threat (APT) group called Earth Kurma has been targeting government and telecommunications sectors in Southeast Asia. The attacks, reported by Trend Micro, utilize custom malware, rootkits, and cloud storage services for data exfiltration. Affected countries include the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.
