Spear-Phishing Campaign Targets Uyghur Community with Trojanized Software

A spear-phishing campaign has sent Trojanized versions of legitimate word processing software to members of the World Uyghur Congress as part of China's ongoing cyber-espionage activities against this ethnic minority. Members of the Uyghur community in exile were targeted in this attack, which uses a Windows backdoor to infiltrate their systems. This operation is part of the Chinese government's efforts to surveil and repress the Uyghurs.
