Am I Wasting My Time?

A graduate in Cybersecurity with multiple CompTIA certifications and 13 years of experience as the CTO of an e-commerce company is looking to enter the field of cybersecurity. Despite sending out 50 applications for entry-level positions, he has not secured any interviews. He is wondering if he should aim for lower positions, such as help desk, to start his career.
