Artem Stryzhak, a Ukrainian national, has been extradited from Spain to face charges of conspiracy to use the ransomware "Nefilim". On May 1, 2025, a revised indictment was unveiled in a federal court in Brooklyn, accusing Stryzhak of conspiracy to commit fraud and related activities, including extortion, in connection with computers. Stryzhak is accused of participating in a global ransomware scheme using the "Nefilim" variant.
