India Court Orders Ban on Encrypted Email Service Proton Mail

The High Court of Karnataka in India has ordered the ban of the encrypted email service Proton Mail. This decision follows the alleged misuse of the service to send threatening and obscene content, including deepfakes, and the hindrance of police investigations due to its encryption and location in Switzerland.
