A federal jury on Tuesday ordered the NSO Group to pay approximately $168 million in damages to WhatsApp, owned by Meta. This decision comes more than four months after a federal judge ruled that the Israeli company had violated U.S. laws by exploiting WhatsApp's servers to deploy the Pegasus spyware, targeting more than 1,400 people worldwide. WhatsApp had initially filed a lawsuit against the NSO Group in 2019.
