Trial Against Developer of Globally Spread Ransomware Begins in Brussels

The trial of the presumed developer of CryLock, one of the most widespread ransomware programs in the world, has begun in Brussels. The Russian suspect, arrested in Spain in 2023, is alleged to have earned millions of euros in bitcoins through his software, which infected tens of thousands of computers. The federal prosecutor stated that the case has an exceptional amount of evidence, including screenshots and the source code of CryLock.
