Bitdefender Uncovers Fraudulent Crypto Ads on Facebook Spreading Malware

Bitdefender has revealed a campaign of fraudulent advertisements on Facebook using fake crypto-currency websites and celebrities as bait to spread malware through malicious desktop applications. The deceptive ads mimic legitimate crypto-currency exchange platforms like Binance and use images of celebrities such as Elon Musk and Zendaya to attract users. Victims are enticed to download a desktop application that installs malware capable of stealing sensitive information and compromising systems. Users are exposed to risks of financial loss and theft of personal data.
