Joint Operation Dismantles 7,000-Device Proxy Botnet

A joint operation by Dutch and American authorities has dismantled a criminal proxy network powered by thousands of infected and end-of-life Internet of Things (IoT) devices, integrating them into a botnet to provide anonymity to malicious actors. This operation also led to the seizure of domains and the arrest of two Russian nationals, Alexey Viktorovich Chertkov, 37, and Kirill Vladimirovich. The botnet consisted of approximately 7,000 compromised devices.
