Google introduces a new security setting called Advanced Protection mode for Android to enhance protection against attacks that infect devices, intercept calls on insecure carrier networks, and deliver scams through messaging services. This feature will be largely implemented in the upcoming Android 16 release. The development comes in response to the growing threat of mercenary malware, notably from NSO Group and other exploit sellers.
