Researchers Discover New Security Flaw Affecting All Modern Intel CPUs
CybersecurityVulnerabilitiesHardwareDataLeaks
Researchers from ETH Zürich have discovered a new security flaw affecting all modern Intel CPUs, allowing leaks of sensitive data from memory. This vulnerability, known as Branch Privilege Injection (BPI), can be exploited to abuse branch predictions, reminiscent of the Spectre vulnerability that has persisted for over seven years. The flaw enables Spectre v2-type attacks, compromising the security of computer systems.
