A new botnet named HTTPBot is targeting the gaming, technology, and education sectors in China, according to cybersecurity researchers at NSFOCUS. HTTPBot, a Go-based botnet, was first detected in August 2024, but its activity significantly increased in April 2025. This botnet has been used to attack video game companies, tech firms, and educational institutions in China.
